Unlocking the Power of Your Website: Strategies for Maximising Your ROI

I’ve had many discussions with people over the last year or so, specifically, about how effective their website is for their business; some websites are doing what they’re supposed to be doing but most are falling a little short.

What's the point of having a website if it's not driving results for your business? It might be sitting there like a digital business card, not doing much at all. If you're not seeing the benefits of your website and a return on your investment (ROI), why bother having one in the first place?

If you're nodding along, realising your website isn't doing much for your business, here are some key factors it should have to improve your ROI:

Firstly, did you answer these important questions before starting your website project:

  • What is the purpose of the website for your business?

  • What are your expectations for how the website can drive specific business outcomes?

I’ve listed a few examples of business outcomes so that you can be aware of when or if you’re looking at a new website or revamping your existing one.

Increase Visibility:

A well-optimised website with SEO included can improve your online visibility, making it easier for potential customers to find them. For example, by incorporating SEO best practices, the website can rank higher in search engine results, leading to more organic traffic.

Brand Awareness:

“Brand awareness is the ability of customers to identify a brand through visual elements like fonts, colors, and logos. When a customer sees a brand and recognizes it, it can create a sense of security that the company is well-established and trustworthy.” Questionpro.com

In other words, if a potential client is bouncing between websites looking for a service or product, for example, a business coach they’re more likely to remember the website if it is branded distinctively and has all the necessary visual elements to make it not only memorable but connects as well.

Lead Generation:

The website can serve as a powerful lead-generation tool. For example, by incorporating contact forms, newsletter sign-ups, or downloadable resources, the website can capture leads and nurture them through your sales funnel.

Sales Conversions:

Your website can directly impact sales and impact sales and conversions. For example, by showcasing products or services effectively, providing clear calls to action, and streamlining the checkout process, the website can drive more sales.

Cost Savings:

A well-optimised website can help save costs in the long run. For example, by automating certain processes such as customer inquiries or appointment bookings, the website can reduce the need for manual intervention, saving time and resources.

Competitive Advantage:

Similar to Brand Awareness a professionally designed website can give you a competitive edge. For example, a modern and visually appealing website can help differentiate your business from competitors and create a positive impression on visitors. It’s not only about having a smart looking website but it if you work with a designer and one who has some experience, then there should be some strategy behind it.

To get an even more return on your investment there are measuring tools for your website that can provide key insights, analytics and tracking tools to measure the impact of the website's key performance indicators such as traffic, engagement and conversions.

But overall, by focusing on these key factors as part of your business growth you should see a better return on investment and therefore more sales.

And, of course, if you are thinking your website could do with some work then we can always provide an audit on your existing website and work with us to get a better return on your investment.
